The amount of luggage you can bring and any charges you may have to pay with Air Canada will be based on where you’re going, the type of ticket you have, and if you’re a frequent flyer. If you have more pieces, heavier weights, or larger dimensions for your baggage than what is allowed for free, you will have to pay extra charges.
Checked Baggage:
Bags that weigh more than 32kg or are bigger than 292cm x 115cm will not be allowed.
Carry-on Baggage: Each passenger is allowed one normal carry-on bag and one personal item. take it with you.
Carry-on bags can weigh as much as they want. But they have to fit under your front seat or in the storage bin above your head.
You are allowed to bring 1 standard bag and 1 personal article as carry-on baggage on Air Canada.

According to Air Canada’s rules for baggage, you have three options for bringing your musical instruments: you can bring them as carry-on, check them in as baggage, or pay for an extra seat for them.
Musical Instruments as Carry-on Baggage
You can bring a musical instrument like a flute, violin, or guitar as part of your carry-on baggage if it fits within the size requirements for carry-on items.
Musical Instruments on a Paid Seat
If your musical instrument is too big for your carry-on baggage, you can buy a seat for it at a 50% discount on the regular price (including the lowest price available). If you are traveling in Signature Class, your musical instrument will be placed in the Economy/Premium Economy Class.
Restrictions on Weight and Size. If you want to buy a seat for your musical instrument, make sure it is not taller or longer than 162.5cm/64in and does not weigh more than 80lb/36kg.
If you want to buy a seat for your musical instrument or need more information, contact Air Canada after you book your flight. Make sure to do this at least 48 hours before your flight departs.
