Checked Baggage Size Limit

- Members of the Morning Calm Club can bring an extra bag when traveling in Prestige and First Class. The weight limit for this bag is 70lb/32kg. For Economy Class, the extra bag allowance is 50lb/23kg, except when flying to or from the Americas.

Delayed, Lost, and Damaged Baggage Policy
Delayed or Lost Baggage
If your luggage doesn’t arrive with you, please let a Korean Air staff member know right away.
To report delayed or lost baggage with Korean Air, you need to do so within 21 days of checking in your baggage. Please download the Property Claim Form.
- Korean Air plans to submit a report about delayed baggage.
- When you file a report, make sure you have your baggage claim tags with you.
- After your delayed baggage arrives, you will receive a daily fee of approximately USD 50 per passenger to cover your essential needs.
Damaged Baggage
- If your luggage is damaged when it arrives, you need to let a Korean Air staff member know right away. Make sure to do this within 7 days of receiving it. You also have the option to report damaged baggage through an online platform.
- Depending on how much damage was done, you might be eligible for compensation. You will not be compensated for minor dents, scratches, stains, or any damage to accessories.
- If your luggage was damaged during a random screening by the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA), you will find either a written notice inside the bag or a seal on the outside.
Delay Flight
Yes, if your Korean Air flight is delayed for more than 3 hours, cancelled without sufficient notice, or you are denied boarding due to overbooking, you may be eligible for compensation under EC Regulation 261/2004.
Korean Air Musical Item Policy
