Qatar Airways does not allow animals to transfer from flights operated by other airlines, and the same is applicable in reverse.

  • Starting from September 28, 2022, Canada has implemented a new rule that prohibits the entry of commercial dogs from countries with a high risk of dog rabies. 
  • Qatar Airways does not allow animals as checked baggage for transportation to and from Australia because of local regulations. 
  • Remember, if you’re traveling to Australia with animals, you can only transport them through Melbourne (MEL).

Breed Restrictions

Make sure the travel container for your pet is large enough and has enough openings for ventilation. The structure should be well-built and sturdy to ensure no one can escape. The requirements for traveling with pets on Qatar Airways are as follows: 

  • The maximum size for a jar is 40 x 25 x 23 cm.
  • The most your pet and crate can weigh together is 8 kg.
  • If the crate is too small, Qatar Airways may refuse to ship it.

Qatar Airways Cargo has a center specifically designed for live animals. The center is fully equipped and provides food for the animals. Passengers should take note of the following things to consider:
